Dear Readers,
We are excited to introduce Bridging Perspectives, a journal dedicated to creating a space for thoughtful exchange across experiences, disciplines, and worldviews.
Bridging Perspectives was conceived at a national meeting of our partners, where our membership noted an urgent need for a venue to recognize the importance of manuscripts on equity in healthcare, lived experience, and artistic effort, to reflect the range of ways in which healthcare providers make sense of their experiences as both professionals and persons.
That conversation became the seed of Bridging Perspectives. Through personal narratives and reflective writing featured alongside original research and reviews, we seek to be a peer-reviewed journal that welcomes the fullness of human expression while maintaining academic rigor. We recognize that some of the most important insights in medicine can arrive as quiet realization through stories or images that provoke thought and dialogue, and can meaningfully impact how one perceives patients, colleagues, and self.
In this increasingly complex time in healthcare, our mission is simple yet vital: to bring together disparate voices to spark curiosity, inspire reflection, and encourage meaningful change. By weaving together contributions from educators, clinicians, and scholars across settings, we aim to foster connection and deepen understanding of the unique characteristics, challenges, and imbalances that shape the healthcare workforce.
For our first electronic publication, we would also like to extend our deepest thanks and genuine gratitude for the hard work of the following reviewers for this inaugural issue of Bridging Perspectives:
Kirsten Bechtel
Rasika Bhamre
Rebekah Burns
Jacinta Cooper
Tamar Lubell
Karen Mangold
Kimberley Randell
Michelle Recto
Annie Rominger
Susan Wiltrakis
Thank you for joining us in this endeavor. We look forward to the conversations and discoveries that Bridging Perspectives will cultivate in the months and years ahead. We are currently accepting contributions for Volume 1, Issue 2.
